Welcome to VCS' Early High School STEM Program!
Vance County Schools' first middle-grades STEM program is here!
A "school within a school" serving approximately 100 students in the 6th grade -- then expanding a grade level per year through grade 8. The Early High School STEM Program offers a full range of rigorous educational opportunities in Science, Mathematics, Language Arts and Social Studies. Engineering and technology components are embedded in all four core subjects as well as in the program's rotating electives, uniquely-designed to support the STEM curriculum.
As a 1:1 laptop program, each student has his/her own laptop which greatly enhances the teaching and learning process. With the laptops, information/content is easily accessible, channels of communication are nearly seamless, feedback is instant and a multitude of tools to solve problems and demonstrate learning are at the students' fingertips.
